Okay, so I flew out of San Francisco International (SFO) on the 8th of September. I landed in Narita Airport (Tokyo) at 4:30 in the afternoon. I tried sleeping a few times on the plane but that didn't really happen for me, considering I was sitting in the aisle. Every time that I would come close to falling asleep, a steward/stewardess would come by and accidentally bump me. So a ten and a half our flight with no sleep, but that's pretty typical of how I am on planes anyways. XP
So Kazaoka-sensei who is our program director (I think) along with co-director Howard-sensei came and picked us up at the airport. From there we headed to Sunroute Hotel which is located in Takadanobaba, Shinjuku-ku. I think we arrived sometime after 6 p.m. We were given 10 minutes to stow our bags in out rooms and then head over to Shakey's (pizza place). Some Waseda University students helped us carry our bags, of which I am extremely grateful. The hotel rooms were amazingly small, but it was an interesting experience. I absolutely loved it though. The bathroom was so tiny, but that was cool too.
So, 25 exhausted exchange students headed up to Shakey's to have some corn and shrimp pizza. Interesting combination, but it was pretty well. Following dinner, everybody decided to head back to the hotel, except for eight of us. Three went off somewhere (no clue where), and five of us walked around the area near our new school before we headed over to the train station to go to Shibuya. (You can probably find info about Shibuya on Wikipedia) It cost us about 130 yen, about the equivalent of $1.25. We wondered around for a bit and ended up in an Irish pub where we had some drinks. One girl went off to meet her boyfriend while the rest of us sat around and talked. I had a single drink while the others had a couple. (White Russian for me) Completely and utterly yummy! ^_^
Sometime around midnight the girl came back and joined us for a little bit longer before all of us headed out of the bar. Just before leaving we ran into these French guys who were getting ready to head back to their country the next day. Of course, my French is very rusty so we had to speak in English. LOL After leaving we head up the street to try and find somewhere else that we could go around Shibuya. We tried to go into a club, but one of the guys that was with us was wearing sandals. Funny thing is, is that guys are not allowed to wear sandals, but women are. LOL
Anyways, while standing/sitting around trying to figure out what to do next, on of the French guys was hitting on me. I thinking he was trying to get some something something, but I wasn't about to allow that to happen. LOL Anyways, he kept trying to kiss my lips, but I only let him kiss my cheek. He then wanted to kiss his cheek, and when I went to do that he turned his head. The cheaky bugger tricked me. Oh well, you live and you learn. LOL
Well, the French guys decided to go into the club, so our original group set out to find another bar in which to hang out. We met of the other girl's boyfriend again and headed to this bar. (Most of the bars here seem to be in the basements of buildings.) We met up with a couple friends of the girl's boyfriend's. We spent several hours there talking and drinking. I first ordered an apple martini, expecting an apple martini that was somewhat American style, I took a larger sip than I should of. Talk about one's throat burning. Phew!! It was like 95% vodka and 5% juice. Funny thing is, is that I forgot that I should have asked for a 'ringo martini'. An apple martini is actually pineapple martini. Talk about ick! About an hour or so later, at least three of us were totally falling asleep. One of the guys (who was completely awake) decided to order me a drink. It was so funny, I would take sip of the drink, be wake up all of five minutes and start falling asleep again. Take another drink, be awake for finutes and start falling asleep again. Finally around 3 or 3:30 in the morning we decide to head back to the hotel. We to a taxi which cost of 3,000 Yen, about the equivalent of $30, but at least it got split up between all of us.
So that was my first night in Tokyo. I will try to talk more about other things that have happened since then later. I apologize for either my bad grammar or the way I am writing. Hopefully, I will improve as time continues. I will apologize in advance if my writing gets worse because I'm already having issues with thinking in English. LOL

So umm... I've been in Japan for a few days.
Alright, so this is my first blog in Japan. It's going to be really short. I'm going to be meeting my host family tomorrow, so I need my rest, especially considering it is currently 11:30 at night. So I'm going to bed now and will hopefully be connected to the internet soon so that I can actually blog. LOL
